Charles E. (Chuck) Adamson, 86, of Rochester Hills, Mich., formerly of Waynesburg, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 23, 2010.
He was born May 3, 1924, in Waynesburg, a son of Martha Goslin Adamson of Waynesburg and the late Alva W. Adamson.
Mr. Adamson was a decorated World War II Army veteran, having received two purple hearts and a bronze star for his bravery.
He and his wife lived on Braden Run Road, Waynesburg, for 45 years, before moving to Michigan for health reasons.
Mr. Adamson was a meat cutter in Greene County prior to his retirement.
He was a member of American Legion Post 330 in Waynesburg and Oak View United Methodist Church in Waynesburg.
Mr. Adamson loved animals, raccoon hunting and fishing.
On January 26, 1945, he married Mary Belle Day, who died March 5, 2002.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Martha Henderson and husband Ed of Rochester Hills; two sons, Edward A. Adamson and wife Dee of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jerry A. Adamson and wife Kathy of Masontown; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; six brothers, Robert Adamson, Joseph Adamson, James Adamson, Duane Adamson all of Waynesburg, Ben Adamson of Ravenna, Ohio, and John Adamson of Ocala, Fla.; and two sisters, Betty Vandruff of Mt. Morris and Elizabeth Lemley of Waynesburg.
Deceased is a brother, George Adamson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 28, with the Rev. Jerrad R. Peterman officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
