He was born Sept. 22, 1890, in Stark County, a son of Hiram and Louisa Besett and was married to Elizabeth Hash. He was a painting and papering worker and a World War I veteran.
Surviving is one son, James of Willowick, Ohio, and three grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. December 24, 1977, at the Wyoming Funeral Home.
The Rev. Larry Mason officiated and burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery.
