Mrs. Fay Blankenbeker, 89, Martinsville, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday (April 24, 1998) in the Burnside Nursing Home in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wesley Chapel Church, located in rural Martinsville, with the Rev. Mark Doane officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today (Monday) at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville.
Mrs. Blankenbeker was born Oct. 20, 1908, in Crawford County, the daughter of Irving and Dessie Mae Buckner Chapman. She married Freddie Edgar Blankenbeker on March 25, 1927. He died on Sept. 2, 1965.
Survivors include: one son, Cleon Blankenbeker of New Braunfels, Texas; four daughters, Wilma Smitley of Martinsville, Dica Kerr of Jackson, S. C., Treva Beals of Oblong and Judy Miebach of Marshall; two sisters, Lula Guyer of Marshall and Cora Blankenbeker of Martinsville; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Velda Cannon and one son, Gail Blankenbeker.
Mrs. Blankenbeker was a member of the Martinsville United Methodist Church.
The family suggests, for those who wish, memorials may be made to the Martinsville United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
