They had the following children: Heyward Preston Christieb. 1954 (Deborah Burnette) , Audrey Maria Christie b. 1959(Mark Edward Giebeig), and Ethel Dean Christie b. 1960 (Kenneth F. Brookins). She had step-children from Laverne's previous marriage who were Howard Laverne Christie Jr 1946-1910, Robert Martin Christie 1948-2013 and Gloria Jean "Gail"Christie b. 1950 that married Randy Dyal. She was a resident of a Nursing Home in Live Oak, Suwannee, Florida at the time of her death.
