J. R. Averett, 90, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter W. Allen, in Hallsville, Texas, April 9. He was the brother of W. O. Averett and of Mrs. C. E. Sompayrac of Winnfield. He also leaves two other brothers, Earl, of Gilmer, Texas and Walter of Shreveport; and another sister, Mrs. W. J. Baker of Jacksonville, Miss.; and one son, Fred Averett of Bossier City.
Last rites were conducted at Hallsville Tuesday.
