Frederick George Whitehead, son of James and Caroline Blattner Whitehead was born near Wyaconda, Missouri, on July 16, 1891, and passed away on August 16, 1970 at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa.

He was married to Mabel Billings in 1910. She passed away on August 21, 1918. To this union was born two daughters, Lenna and Hazel.

On June 30, 1923 he was united in marriage to Josibel Sullivan at Keokuk, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Frederick, Marjorie, and Mary Jo.

Fred farmed near Wyaconda until his retirement. They bought a home in Wyaconda where he worked for the Wyaconda School and the new Wyaconda Water System until his health failed. He spent many pleasant hours in his garden and work shop.

Fred was a member of the Wyaconda Christian Church and the Modern Woodmen of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Laura Whitehead and Mrs. Lillie Saar, six brothers, Henry, Willie, Albert, John, James, and Charles and his infant daughter Mary Jo.

Survivors include his wife, Josibel, a son Frederick Whitehead of Kahoka; three daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Lenna) Benge of Wyaconda, Mrs. Wallace (Hazel) Watson of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Charles (Marjorie) Alderton of Wyaconda; three sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
