Jane Gazelle was born on July 31, 1917, in East Alton, a daughter of George Earl and Mary Catherine Cudahy Woodmansee. She married Donald Schenkel on Sept. 19, 1936. She later married Paul Gazelle on Oct. 13, 1957, in Maplewood, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1997.
Surviving is one son, Donald E. (Patricia) Schenkel; a daughter-in-law, Betty Schenkel; one sister, Mary Ellen Johnson; four grand children, Vicki (Doug) Prochnow and Jeff (Joni) Schenkel, Tamara (Greg) Heerde and Sarah (Gary) Baltz Jr.; ten great-grandchildren, Zach and Andy Prochnow; Cody, Austin and Brett Schenkel, Emily and Nicholas Heerde; and Gary III, Jack and Madeline Baltz; one niece, Melissa (Brian) Kickline and three great-nieces, Leigh Ellen, Samantha and Grace Kickline.
She was preceded in death by one son, Richard E. Schenkel on May 23, 1996.
