Dorothy L. Sollinger, 93 of Aurora passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. She was born June 3, 1907 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of William and Barbara Alexander. Dorothy was united in marriage on March 27, 1937, at St. Michael's Church in Wheaton to Edward Sollinger. Dorothy and Edward made their home in Aurora, where she devoted her life to her family, and treasured special times with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Wilcox of Aurora, Mary Jane (Ed) Whatley of Big Rock, Sally (Paul) Kaulas of Wilmette, and Darlene Sollinger of Missouri; four sons Edward and Eugene Sollinger both of Aurora, Richard (Judy) Sollinger of Oswego, and Gerald (Sandy) Sollinger of Freeport; nine grandchildren, Robert (Viola) Sollinger, Randy Smith, Terry Trombly, Jeff (Jeni) Wilcox, Sherri (Andrew) Rachford, Steven (Colleen) Sollinger, Stacey Sollinger, Jason and Ethan Kaulas; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Alexander of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward; two sons Vincent Sollinger and a baby at birth; two brothers John Pairsot and George Alexander; and three sisters, Elizabeth Newhouse, Mary Sharpe and Anna Galles.
    Funeral from The Daleiden Lake St. Mortuary Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 9:30 AM to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Edward F. Gillespie will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 9 from 4:00-8:00 PM, with a liturgical wake service at 4:30 PM, at The Daleiden Lake St. Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora. (630) 898-8634.
