Merle Lowe Haroldsen, 80, passed away in her home from natural causes. She was born Sept 22, 1923 in Central, Idaho to Nellie Webb Lowe and Scott Downey Lowe. She married George Ivan Haroldsen on August 10, 1949 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple. In 1961, the family, which now included four sons, moved from their home in Idaho Falls to Salt Lake City. George died in 1969 and Merle was left to raise her four sons alone. Merle lived the remainder of her life in her home in Holladay.
Merle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an extraordinarily gifted artist, pianist, and harpist. She was a very kind, loving, compassionate lady who loved her home and yard, art, classical music, antiques, and most of all, her family.
Merle is survived by her four sons, of whom she was very proud; Paul Stephen, David Reid, Robert George, and Kent Douglas; also nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah at 10 a.m., Tuesday October 7, 2003.
Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
