OBITUARY OF MRS. ARTHUR ANDERSON
Mrs. Arthur S. (Esther L.) Anderson, 80, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Claude in Webster City. She had been in failing health for several years but more seriously ill the past six weeks.
Funeral services were held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. H. C. Perrine officiating and burial in Graceland Cemetery.
Esther Lorena Samuelson, daughter of Frank and Marie Samuelson, was born Jan. 21, 1884 at Stratford, Iowa and was reared and educated in the Stratford community.
She was united in marriage February 5, 1908, to Arthur S. Anderson, and the couple farmed for several years in Hamilton County, moving to Webster City in 1944, her home since.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1951; by two daughters, Elinor and Crystal; by her parents and one sister.
She is survived by four sons and one daughter; Kenneth Anderson of Rossville, Kansas; Clyde Anderson of Monterey, Calif.; Burt Anderson of Webster City; Seldon Anderson, West Bend, Iowa; Mrs. Marvin (Virginia) Claude of Webster City; one sister, Mrs. Almeda Holt of Stratford; and four step-sisters; Mrs. A. T. Johnson, Stratford; Mrs. Ida White, Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Mrs. Hulda Samuelson, Des Moines; Mrs. Clara Linn, California. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Anderson was baptized in the Christian faith. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Women's Relief Corps.
