Thomas Arcala Sr. was the second born child of Mamerto Arcala and Lenore Barron. He graduated high school at Holy Redeemer Catholic High School in Detroit, Michigan. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps. During this time he met his first wife Margaret Young while stationed in Hawaii, whom he would marry and raise 3 children with, Jeri, April and Thomas Jr.

Following divorce from his first wife, he married his second wife Kyong-Ja in 1976 and had a daughter named Kyong-Mi.

Following his divorce from his second wife, he remarried a third time to his best friend and partner, Penny Lucke Mortenson. He retired from General Telephone Co. and moved to St. Peters, Missouri; Gering, Nebraska; Wayne Co, Michigan; and then to Littleton, Colorado. He passed away from a massive heart attack in Littleton, Colorado while at work.

Thomas was survived by wife Penny Arcala, children Jeri Tirona (Albert), April Davis (Dana), Thomas Jr., Kyong-Mi; sisters Judy Arcala-Behuniak-Erick, Jacki Arcala, and Joyce Sims (Roosevelt), and brother Barry; grandchildren Anita Davis, Daniel Davis, Anna Davis, David Davis, Anya Davis, Sienna Arcala-Anderson and Kalib Anderson.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father Mamerto Arcala, mother Lenore Barron-Arcala-Hipol-Casing, and half brother Michael Hipol.

Memorial service was held at St. Pious Catholic Church in Buena Park, California. Thomas Arcala Sr was cremated.

Update: Penny Francis Arcala (Mortenson) was born September 27, 1947 in Nebraska and passed December 15, 2020 in Springfield, Arkansas.
