Charles Columbus Bowen was a Private in Capt Burgins Company, 26th Alabama Infantry. His father retrieved his son by death claim on 31 October 1864 and returned him to Tuscaloosa County, and is buried in an unmarked grave at Mt Zion Cemetery, Hargrove Road East, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, next to his parents.
