Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. Thursday in Rix funeral home chapel for Mrs. Tom C. Ivey, 66, of 1801 Main, who died about 11a.m. Thursday in West Texas hospital after an illness lasting two months.
A Christian Science service will be read by W.C. Johnson. Pallbearers are to be Lawrence Bacon, Charles Bacon, Jo Dick Slaughter, Dick Medlock, Glenn Howard and John T. Easley. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Mrs. Ivey was born Feb. 15, 1880 at Fort Griffin (Texas) to Mr. and Mrs. John L. Hammond. The family lived at Fort Griffin and Vernon. She married August 28, 1900 at Mobeetie (Texas).
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Lina Alexander of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Mrs. Johnnie Hammond Larsen of Sacramento; a brother, L.K. of Lubbock.
Mr. & Mrs. Ivey moved to the Plains in 1905. They moved to Lubbock in 1925. They had one baby, Jessie Faye, who was born in June, 1901 and died March 1902.
