Mrs. Joseph Garbs, Mrs. Joseph Barbs died at her home in Berger on Tuesday, December 14, 1920, after a long illness. Mrs. Garbs (nee Note) was born at Berger on March 1, 1882. Se was united in marriage on November 15, 1904 [1900], to Joseph Garbs. To their union five children were born, three of whom died in infancy. Four several years, Mrs. and Mrs. Garbs and family made their home in New Haven, where he was employed as section foreman. While here her health began to fail and she never fully regained her strength. Mrs. Garbs was an industrious home-loving woman and has a host of friends in the community, who deeply regret her passing. She was a member of the Catholic church and of the St. Anna's Woman's Society of Berger. She is survived by her husband, two children, Anna and Verona; three sisters, Katy, Anna and Amanda Nolte of Morrison; and two brothers, John and Arthur Nolte of Morrison. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow, Friday, at 9:30 A.M. at the Catholic Church and interment will be in the Catholic cemetery.

DIED AT BERGER - Mrs. Joe Garbs Succumbed to Lingering Illness, Yesterday Morning, at Her Home in Berger- Was 38 Years Old - Funeral Friday Morning. - Mrs. Josephine A. Garbs, nee Nolte, wife of Joe Garbs, who had been ill for several months, passed away yesterday morning at her home in Berger, age 38 years, 9 months and 13 days. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Anna, age 11, and Verona, age 8 years, three sisters, Misses Katy Note, of Berger, and Misses Anna and Amanda Nolte, of Morrison, and two brothers, John Nolte, of Morrison, and Arthur Note, of Berger. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Father Eugene Hagedorn in St. Pauls Catholic Church at Berger Friday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will take place in the old St. Pauls Catholic Cemetery. Deceased was born in Berger, March 1, 1882, and became the wife of Joe Garbs in 1904 [1900]. To their union were born five children, three of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Garbs was a faithful member of St. Ann's Catholic Women's Society and of St. Pauls Catholic Church. The new of her passing away, though not unexpected, has filled the hearts of her friends and relatives with profound sorrow.
