LAMONT RADFORD DIES AT AGE 45

LaMont Radford, 45, Rt. 2, Coltman area resident, died of a heart attack Thursday afternoon while working at a potato cellar at Coltmans. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

He was born on February 2, 1927, at Ririe, the son of James William and Mary Jane Carpenter Radford. He attended schools at Independence, LaBelle and Rigby High School. He lived at Ririe, Independence, LaBelle and Idaho Falls for six years, and Coleman for the last 16 years.

He was a member of the U. S. Navy during Worl War II. He had worked for a creamery as a carpenter and had done cabinet work.

He was a member of the LDS Church and was an elder at the time of his death. He had been a Scout Den Father, secretary of the Aaronic Priesthood. At the time of his death he was 1st counselor in the Sunday School Presidency of the Coltman LDS Ward. He was a member of the Idaho Falls Gem and Mineral Society.

He married Barbara Jean Gourley on October 14, 1946, at Dillon, Montana. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

He is survived by his widow, two sons and one daughter: Bruce Radford and Mrs. Cam Reynolds, both of Idaho Falls; Arthur Radford living at the family home; one grandchild; five brothers: Glen of Rigby; Arnnold of Idaho Falls; Therle of Boise; Merle of Annis, Wendell of Rigby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Coltman LDS Ward Chapel, Bishop Ray Stucki will officiate. The fmaily will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
