Mrs. Lula Viola Reynolds, 55, wife of Thomas E. Reynolds, died early Sunday night at her home near Blount, following a long illness. She was before marriage Miss Lula Viola Leftwich, daughter of Lynch and Julia Abbott Leftwich, and was born and reared in the Cifax community. Mrs. Reynolds was a devout Christian woman, a member of the Otterville Methodist Church, and was greatly loved and respected by the people of her neighborhood.

Funeral services were conducted at Otterville Methodist Church by her pastor, Rev. J.W. Myers, assisted by Dr. J.H. Grey, the Rev. W. L. Mays, the Rev. J.W. Marsh, and the Rev. F.A. Brumfield on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and burial was in Oakwood, Bedford. Active pallbearers were Winston May, Harry Reynolds, R.L. Garfield, G.G. Ballard, George Noell and Lewis Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers were E.J. and Bernard Reynolds, R.K. Jeter, William Wazenby, William Croft, Burford Key and Ralph Hardy. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Winston May, Mrs. Harry Reynolds, Mrs. Fred Winton, Mrs. Willie Gills, Mrs. E.J. Lazenby, Mrs. Ollie Gross, Mrs. Roy Bryant, Mrs. James Scott, Miss Margaret Leftwich, Mrs. Charles Knight, Mrs. S.H. Reynolds, Mrs. Donald Harmon, Mrs. R.L. Garfield, Miss Lazenby, William Hicks, Robert and Mary DeWitt, Mrs. Chrisman Hardy and Miss Jane Reynolds.
