...William Newton Cownover was the son William and RebeccaA Cownover (B/February 1827 in Tennessee) of GilesCounty, Tennessee. On 19 August, 1897 he married Joanna ANNIE Nelson in LawrenceCounty, Tennessee. On the 6 June 1900 Census, Together they were found living on the NorthRange - East Wynnewood State of INDIAN TERRITORY Chicasaw Nation of what later became the State of Oklahoma. Their children were Earnest MACK Malcom, EarlBascom, Doile, WilliamS., Zelma, Jelena and EllieB Cownover. In 1911 her husband, WilliamNewton died. They made their way toward Troy, BellCounty Texas and lived there and Waco, McLennan County for most of their married life. On February 11, 1941 Joanna passed away and is buried near her first husband, WilliamNewton Cownover...
Joanna Nelson was the younger sister of my paternal grgrandfather, JvanAsburyNelson, also of GilesCoTN and BellCoTX. I am Paula Norris Pierce of Houston, Texas....
