Deborah married James Stockton in or near Morgan County, Illinois (See note below) and they had the following children:

NOTE: Some researchers give their marriage date as June 10, 1821 while others give it as June 10, 1831 but this would mean three of their children were born before this date. Note that Morgan County did not exist in 1821. In 1819, everything north of Madison county was part of Madison County. In 1821, what would be Morgan county became Sangamon and Greene and unorganized area. In 1823, Morgan county was formed. No marriages occurred in Morgan until 1823, and very few at that. All the marriage records of Morgan, from 1823 to 1827 were destroyed in a fire. The Morgan county marriage records can be found from 1827 on but none of them contain anything even close to a marriage for James and Deborah. I have no idea where the June 19, 1831 came from but the 1821 date is clearly an attempt to reconcile the marriage with the children's births and cannot be in Morgan County. The 1820 census (in Madison County) and 1830 census (in Morgan County) shows that they didn't move in between as it identifies the location as the same place even when the county boarders changed. The marriage is also not listed in Greene, Sangamon, Pike or Madison (the likely nearest courthouses) anytime between 1820 and 1835. The most likely answer is that they really were married in Morgan County but the marriage occurred between 1823 and 1827, the records of which burned in the fire. The new county didn't organize its courthouse right away making 1823 an unlikely year and the oldest child Sarah was born in January of 1825. So... logically the marriage probably occurred in early 1824, possibly as late as June 10, 1824.
