Callie Allen Branner, 96, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 7, 2012.

Gravside service will be 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with Sherman Eastland, chaplain of Odyssey Hospice, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St.

Ms. Branner was born in October 1915 in Happy. Callie graduated from Happy High School in 1933. The family later moved to Amarillo, where Callie became a sales clerk at Levine's Department Store. She was hired in 1941 to be a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone, where she continued in arious capacities until retiring from AT&T after 36 years of service. Ms. Branner was active in the AT&T Pioneer organization until a few years ago.

She was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband of 49 years, Mr. John C. Branner.

Survivors include a nephew, Kirby Allen of San Antonio; and several grandnieces and grandnephews residing in Kansas and Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
