He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict, a businessman in Iowa representing Baldor Electric Co. and an active member of the First Christian Church of Richmond, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Zora Boon Hesselberth; one brother, Fredrick; and a stepson, Jeffrey Pugh.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Frazier Hesselberth; sons, Mark (Jan) and Scot, of Tulsa, Okla., Todd (Teresa) of Fort Smith, Ark., and Paul Eric of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and grandson, Daniel William Hesselberth of Tulsa, Okla. Also surviving are stepsons, Julian (Alice) of Norwalk, Iowa, and Jeremy Pugh of West Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Gus, Jordan and Sarah; one sister, Marjorie Cusac of Rutland, Ill.; and three brothers, Paul (Carolyn), James and Jerald (Judy), all of Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at First Christian Church of Richmond, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Richmond, Ky.
Arrangements are by Care Cremation & Funeral Service of Lexington, Ky.
