Anna Smith (Painter) Coffey, b. 11/17/1833; d. Memphis, Tenn, 5/5/1862 while the city was being bombarded by the Federal gunboats. They were married 5/20/1857 and had two children who died as infants. Anna's mother, Hannah Smith (Vredenburgh) Painter (memorial 34666015) died when she was three years old and she was adopted by her aunt, Harriet Woodward (memorial 7276783)
