The records of Berkley say: "Ebenezer Axtell late of Mendham, in Jersey, but now an inhabitant of Berkley. He is frequently mention as filling town offices. From the Mass. records of the Revolutionary War it seems that he served 6 months. There is also another Ebenezer enrolled from Berkley, who was probably the son of Samuel.
