Quinton Martin Marrs
Arnold Sentinel, April 1919

Sabbath morning, April 13th., the community was shocked to learn that Quinn Martin Marrs, had passed from labor to reward; from acute suffering here, to the happy land of which it is written: "Neither shall there be any more pain."

Deceased was born in Mercer County Missouri, january 27, 1875 and at the time of his death was 44 years, 2 months, and 17 days odl. Death resulted from Spanish influenza followed by pneumonia.

At the age of ten years he moved with his parents to Arnold, Nebraska and there attained his manhood.

Febuary 20, 1903 at Gandy he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Kinnard, and to this union were born three sons; Lee, Johnny. Cecil and James. Besides this he leaves to mourn his departure, his aged mother four sisters; Mrs Millie Twist, Mrs. Lucy Newman, Mrs. Augusta Jones and Mrs Emma Alexander, all of Arnold, Nebraska.

Quinn Marrs was a kind husband and an affectionate father who will be sadly missed by members of the home, and the dispositionof the man was such that he is morned as well by a large circle of friends.

Friday morning before his death he called the writer, and after council, reading scriptures and praying he gave himself wholly into the keeping of " The Never Failing Friend" and passed away two days later in the triumph of that faith.

Funeral services were held from the late home Monday afternoon at four o clock, and the remains were transposed to Arnold Tuesday morning and services were conducted on the lawn of his mothers home at ten thirty o clock. Rev. B. A. Shively officated on both occasions. The text at Callaway was " At Evening time it shall be light" and at the Arnold Service Rev: 21:4 . Four ladies from the Evangelical sang at Callaway, and the choir of the Baptist chruch rendered the music at Arnold. Many beautiful floral designs were displayed at the services.

At his own request the remains were placed beside his father at Arnold Cemetery until the time of Welcome and dismissed--Contributed.
