Anita K Schnell, 81, formerly of 20325 County Highway X, Kiel, died early Tuesday morning, April 16, 2002 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton. She had been a resident of Century Ridge, Chilton, since October of 2001.
She is the former Anita Buchholz born Jan, 18, 1921 in the town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late William Sr. and Alma Perronne Buchholz. She attended Kiel schools. On March 5, 1941, she married Lester Schnell at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1976. Anita was employed at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein for over 20 years until her retirement. The couple farmed on the family homestead in the Town of Schleswig all their married life. She was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Town of Schleswig and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, playing cards and collecting souvenir bells.
Survivors include her eleven children; Roger Schnell, Robert Schnell, and Randall (Lorraine) Schnell, all of rural Kiel; Sandra (Terry) Dammen, Kewaunee; Gerald Schnell, rural Kiel; Don Lee (Virginia) Schnell, Sheboygan Falls; Thomas Schnell, rural Kiel; Dorene (Jack) Hanke, Sheboygan Falls; Dennis Schnell, St. Nazianz; and Lori (Daniel) Salm, Manitowoc. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren, one great-grandson; two brothers, William Jr. (Lori Doris) Buchholz, Kiel and Elmer (Ruth) Buchholz, Kiel; one sister, Hildegard Wieting, Kiel; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Ellen, one infant granddaughter and brothers and sisters-in-law.
