Carmela A. Carrieri, 95, of Enfield entered into Eternal Life on Thurs. March 10, 2005 at her home, the widow of Raffaele Carrieri (1976). Carmela was born on Nov. 17, 1909 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield the daughter of the late Luciano and Annunziata Albano, she was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Carmela started her working career with the former Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co., then moved onto the Montgomery Co. prior to her retirement in 1962 she was employed in food services at Bradley International Airport. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, crocheting, playing cards and mostly family gatherings. Carmela was an honorary member of the Mount Carmel Society's Womens Auxillary, Enfield and parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt she will be greatly and deeply missed.

Carmela is survived by a daughter, Nancy Brissette of Enfield, a daughter, Phyllis Rookey and husband, Robert of Enfield, a daughter, Rita Skizewski and husband, Richard of Enfield, a son, Fedeli Carrieri and wife, Betty of Suffield and a son, Nicholas Carrieri and wife, Christine of Somers, her 11 grandchildren, Veronica Root & husband, Dennis, Brian Brissette & wife, Noelle, Raffaele Rookey and wife, Beth, Felica Hagopian & husband, Douglas, Joseph Carrieri & wife, Debra, Nikki Lynn Benoit & husband, Bruce, Beth Anne Moores & husband, Michael, Traci Potter & husband, Christopher, Jesse Carrieri, Mary Rookey and Carla Carrieri, 14 great grandchildren, RJ, Colby, Scott, Emily, Taylor, Nicholas, Derek, Kalli, Riley, Ryan, Sydney, Samuel, Jakob and Connor. She also leaves a sister, Amelia M. Albano and a brother, Luciano Albano, Jr., both of Enfield and several nieces, nephews and her pet cat "Pitzy"

Funeral services in celebration of Carmela's life will be held on Monday March 14, 2005 at 9 am from BROWNE MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPELS 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church at 10 am. Interment will take place in St. Adalbert's Cemetery.
Carmela's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday March 13, 2005 from 4 to 8 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc. 2550 US Highway 1 N. Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
