NORMAN ROCKEFELLER, age 72, of RR 1, Warren Township, Warren Center, Pa., died Wednesday afternoon, June 16, 1999, at the Towanda Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Warren Center, he was born on June 6, 1927, a son of Marjorie (Evans) Rockefeller and the late Manton Rockefeller. He was a graduate of the Warren Center School in 1943 and LeRaysville High School in 1945. On July 29, 1950, he married the former Gertrude Williams in Camptown, Pa. Norma was a longtime employee of Lee Knowles Inc. in Vestal, N.Y. and was also a self-employed masonry contractor. He was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 6824, Haigh's Pond, and enjoyed sharing many fond memories with his friends there. He also enjoyed Nascar racing, hunting and fishing outings with his grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Rockefeller, and his wife of almost 49 years, Gertrude, of Warren Center; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Joyce Rockefeller of Augusta, Ga., Lynn and Jayne Rockefeller of Rome, Pa.; brother, Dale Rockefeller of Warren Center; sister-in-law, Mary Sibers of Little Meadows, Pa.; brothers-in-law, Erwin (Mary) Williams of Smithville Flats, N.Y., Howard Williams of Tioga Center, N.Y., Arthur Williams, Bruce (Barb) Williams, all of Warren Center; his special grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Brian, David and Matthew; aunt, Marguerite Williams of Little Meadows; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Manton Rockefeller in 1983. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral and committal services at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 1999 at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 Main St., Nichols, N.Y. The Rev. Brad Marple, pastor of the Warren Center United Methodist Church, will officiate. The family will receive their friends on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel.
