|Birth: ||Feb. 23, 1825|
|Death: ||Dec. 29, 1894|
Father was George Ellefritz.
OBITUARY: January 2, 1895, Carthage Republican: "Burnside - Solomon Elefrits was born in Eastern Virginia, Feb. 23d, 1825, came to Hancock county in 1843, and has lived in this township ever since. He died Dec. 29th, 1894. Mr. Elefrits came to this neighborhood when only about 18 years old, accompanied by his mother, sister and a half brother and sister who have been dead many years. In 1867, he married Mrs. Mary Coke, who with five children survives him. These children, two of whom are married, are all grown and by industry and economy, he has been enabled to leave in good circumstances. He has been a sufferer from something of a cancerous nature on the lower lip for over a year, which finally ended his life. Having been acquainted with him for at least 50 years, we can truthfully say that he was a good man, honest in convictions and dealings with his fellow men, ready and willing at all times to assit the needy. He had formerly been a member of the Baptist church, but of late years had advocated the teachings of the M. E. church. Thus has passed away one of our best citizens who has lived out nearly, his three score and ten years. Funeral services conducted Monday at the house, by Rev. Dudman, of the M. E. Church. Burial in McKay cemetery. Guy Oaks"
