"KANSAS NATIVE SPENT LIFE HERE - Henry Goldsberry Died At The Age of 84 At The Home Of His Son:
"Henry Goldsberry, son of James and Elizabeth Goldsberry, was born in Kansas, Aug. 22, 1843, and came to Pilot Grove township, Hancock county, Illinois, when he was about ten years old, where he grew to manhood.
"In 1874 he was united in marriage to Miss Ruth Freeman, who died June 15th, 1893. To this union were born five children: Theodore, of Fountain Green, Ill.; Roscoe, of Hamilton, Ill.; Mrs. Maud Lovell, of Burnside, Ill.; Mrs. Bessie Moore, of Ft. Madison, Iowa; Mrs. Lou Thompson, deceased.
"He continued to reside on his farm for several years after the death of his wife, then he moved to Carthage, Ill., where he remained until two years ago he moved to his son's in Hamilton, Ill.
"He united with the M. E. Church about forty years ago and died in full faith in that church.
"He died Dec. 30th at the home of his son, Theodore, where he had been for the past three weeks. He was 85 years, 4 months and 89 days old at his death.
"Beside his own children he leaves to mourn his loss, eighteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and many warm friends.
"His funeral was held at the Hearne Chapel, Carthage, Ill., Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Jan. 1, 1929, Rev. J. W. Porter conducting the service. Burial in McKay cemetery near Burnside, Ill."
