Joyce L. Kolsky age 82 of Sedalia died on Sunday, May 2, 2010, in Blue Springs, Missouri.

She was born on November 10, 1927 in Decatur County, Kansas daughter of Albert Leland and Lulu Rebecca Graham Norris.
She was married on December 27, 1960 in Jennings, Kansas to Dallas Kolsky and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2007.

She graduated from Auburn Nebraska High School. She went two years to Peru State Teachers College in Nebraska and later graduated from Fort Hays College in Fort Hays, Kansas. She taught elementary school in Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri. She previously owned and operated Kentucky Fried Chicken with her husband in Sedalia. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sedalia. She loved to play games, especially cards. She also loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed making cookies with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Joe Kolsky and his wife, Joyce Ann, of Sedalia; two daughters, Marilynn Kolsky, of Sedalia and Nancy Dodge and her husband, Steve, of Blue Springs, Missouri; one sister, Wanda Miller, of Arizona; five grandchildren, Kathy Kolsky, Rebecca Kolsky, Sophie Dodge, Claire Dodge, Forest Dodge.

She was preceded by one son, Lee Kolsky and one brother; Lee Norris.

Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center at 1701 W. 32nd street in Sedalia, Missouri with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating. The family received friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Celebration Center.

Graveside services and burial was at 10:30 A.M. Saturday May 8, 2010 at the Jennings Cemetery in Jennings, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home of Sedalia, Missouri.
