Mr. Clements retired from Babcock and Wilcox and was working at American Hoffman. He was a member of Madison Heights Christian Church and attended Madison Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors also include two daughters, Lisa Johnston and husband, Michael, and Kathryn Clements-Lang, both of Madison Heights; brother, the Rev. Kyle G. Clements and wife, Marsha, of Orange; sister, Kaye C. Jones and husband, Michael, of Lynchburg; special brother-in-law, Glenn W. Peters and wife, Sterling, of Madison Heights; four grandchildren, Mary K. Johnston, Matthew K. Johnston, Ashlynn G. Clements and Joseph Z. Clements; and numerous in-laws, out-laws, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Amherst Dialysis and the Renal Unit staff at Lynchburg General Hospital for the care given to Mr. Clements.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at Whitten Monelison Chapel by the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton. Interment will take place in Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 28, 2009, at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association or Madison Heights Baptist Church.
