Birth: May 6, 1842, Ireland
Death: May 9, 1893
Rochester
Olmsted County
Minnesota, USA

Born in the midst of the Great Famine, James Heneghan immigrated from Ireland to the US in 1863 as a young man. He served in the Union New York 69th Irish INF in the civil war and settled for the remainder of his life on his farm in Olmsted County. According to his wife's family bible he was buried at St Bridget's Cemetery. According to an old biography, History of Minnesota, he was the carpenter who built the church there. However, he is not among the listed internments. Perhaps he was buried with a wooden marker, long since lost to time.
