On the morning of October 1, 1968, an Army representative informed his parents of their son's death. Their last communication with their son was a birthday card for his mother. Tragically, the young man was killed on his mother's birthday.
Specialist Ambrosio was born on October 31, 1947, in Lorain, Ohio. He graduated from Elyria High School, Elyria, Ohio, in 1965. He worked at Prout Chevrolet prior to entering military service on September 14, 1967.
Specialist Ambrosio was sent to Vietnam on March 8, 1968. He was killed during a fire fight with hostile forces while serving near Pleiku, Vietnam.
