Valentine Gardner is the son of Frederick "Fred" Gardner and Katherine Gardner (nee DeBolt).

He was married and divorced.


Charleston Gazette, March 10, 1961:
GARDNER, Valentine (Val)--63, of Shamblins Court, died Thursday in a Charleston nursing home after an extended illness.
He was a retired plumber.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Catherine DeBolt Gardner of Charleston; a sister, Mrs. Amelia Sullivan of Charleston; and two brothers, Walter and Fred J., both of Charleston. Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl G. Hesson officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
