Allen was a rig hand and an oil field worker. He was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church of Graham.
Survivors: two daughters - Linda Gregg and Connie Carr; son - Richard Allen; three sisters - Beulah Jean Murray, Hattie Landers and Maggie Gipson; give grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jack Odell Allen.
