Services for Mr. Adolphus Christopher, 72, Bullard, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, Bullard, with the Rev. Donald Hampton officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Mr. Christopher died April 17, 2010, at Hospice of East Texas.

He was born April 21, 1937, in Bullard, and attended Stanton High School. He lived in Smith County more than 60 years, was a retired truck driver and a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Bullard, where he was a deacon, superintendent of the Sunday school and trustee and overseer of the building fund. He also sang in the male chorus.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Justine Brooks Christopher; his parents; and one son, Desmond Christopher Sr.

Survivors include three daughters, Cassandra Christopher Jackson (Johnathan) of Spring Branch, Carlus Christopher Hester of Bullard, and Angie Christopher of Bullard; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
