JAMES OSCAR RICH

James Oscar Rich, 82, 2140 Wellington Place, died Monday in the Osteopathic Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1880, in Mansfield, Mo., and moved to Wichita from Mansfield in 1905. He was a custodian for the Wichita Union Stockyards for many years, and retired in 1956. He married Gertrude Cochenour on Jan. 26, 1940.

Survivors include his widow; of the home; three step-daughters, Mrs. Zola Mae Walker, 2146 Wellington Place, Mrs. Wilma Beckstron, 3137 Mascot, and Mrs. Ruth Weber, Herington, Kan.; two step-sons, Leon Cochenour, 2146 Wellington, Place, and Glen Cochenour, with the U.S. Army in Germany; one sister, Marie Walthall, Ingelwood, Calif.; two brothers, Arthur Rich, Mountain Grove, Mo., and Walter Rich, 1715 S. Elizabeth; eight step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Cochran Mortuary Chapel of the Roses. The Rev. Vernon M. Reffner, pastor of the Wellington Place Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
