He was born in Mecklenburg, Germany, the son of Joachim and Mary (Burch) Timm. He came to this country in 1873. On April 16, 1883, he was united in marriage to Bertha McKale. They had always lived in this county and in 1913 they moved to their present farm.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Centerville, having been confirmed at the age of fourteen.
He is survived by his wife, four sons, Ernest of Mendon, Clarence and Marcus at home, and harry whose residence is unknown; three daughters, Mrs. Gust Staffledt of Saginaw, Mrs. Gust Hackenberg of Marcellus and Mrs. Harry Geark of Three Rivers; twenty-seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
