In checking my family notes I have John Wesley Sisco born 1850 son of John Riley Sisco born 19 May 1806 in Roane Co, TN and died 4 July 1882 in Jackson Co, TN

John Wesley Sisco married Nancy Jane Holloway about 1873. Nancy Jane Holloway daughter of Claiborn Holloway and Nancy Jane Carnahan

I just noticed your memorial on John Wesley Sisco. I'm good friends with his great grandson. He was born and raised in Kentucky and his mother was alive until 1999. He has been back to the Sisco counties several times and taken pictures of John Wesley Sisco's grave. If I can find it I'll post it.

Anyway, here's the problem. John Wesley's parents was John Riley Sisco and Elizabeth Riley. We've both seen that death certificate and don't understand how his name got listed as John Wesley. We are both in agreement that is an error on the death certificate. Unfortunately, we as genealogist believe in the paper trail and what's on it. Sometimes, however, it appears to be wrong.

I think his information came from his mother. She was born in 1910 and I would think she knew her grandfather.

Would you please put a note on the memorial indicating the possible mix-up.
