Andy Engstrom, 68, of Hiawatha, died at the Horton Hospital Wednesday evening, Jan. 15, 1947, after an illness of two weeks. He is survived by his wife of the home, one daughter, Mrs. V.N. Nelson of Fremont, Nebr.; four sons, John and Frederick of Hiawatha; Arthur L. of Long Beach, Calif.; Bernard G. of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Olaf, and a step-mother of Stockholm, Sweden. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Church at 2 o;clock Friday Jan. 17, 1947, conducted by Rev. William I. Hastie. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr Engstrom has lived in this community for 43 years. He has been a carpenter in Hiawatha most of that time.

Funeral services for Andy Engstrom were held from the Methodist Church in Hiawatha at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 1947, conducted by Rev. William I. Hastie. Mr & Mrs Leroy Neff, accompanied by Mrs B.E. Spalding, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and Going Down the Valley". Pallbearers were Robert Reynolds, Roy Englehardt, John Wolney, Glenn Moore, James Wilson, Harry Snooks. Mrs. E.A. Angle, Miss Nancy Ham, and Mrs Fred McKague assisted with the flowers. Interment was in the Mr. Hope Cemetery.
