Esther Carolina Louise (Echtenkamp) Hilgenkamp, 92

October 29, 1904 ~ December 3, 1996

Esther Carolina Louise was born October 29, 1904 in rural Arlington, Nebraska to Louis and Bertha (Hinnerichs) Echtenkamp. She lived in the Arlington area all her life.

She married Arthur W. Hilgenkamp Aug. 31, 1927 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They were blessed with four children.

They farmed in rural Arlington before moving into Arlington in 1964.

Sadly, her husband entered eternity on May 30, 1974.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of the church. She was a choir member for over 45 years.

In April, 1990, she moved into the Fremont, Nebraska Care Center and remained there until her own passing on Tuesday, December 3, 1996, at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 4 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; two infant daughters; brothers: Herbert Echtenkamp and Gilbert Echtenkamp.

Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Rupert and Karen Hilgenkamp of Arlington; four grandchildren: Deborah Brothers of Austin, Texas; Russell (Becky) Hilgenkamp of Arlington; Dan (Jenny) Hilgenkamp of Laramie, Wyoming; Erik (Lisa)Hilgenkamp of Springfield, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Sat., Dec. 7 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. Dr. Michael L. Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Erik Hilgenkamp, Dan Hilgenkamp, Russell Hilgenkamp, Marvin Echtenkamp, Warren Hammang and George Bluma will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to thank you for your kindness and sympathy and invite you to lunch at the parish hall immediately following the committal service.
