Obit: Mrs. D.J. Lovell, 96, one of the real pioneers of the Coon Rapids community, died at her home on Friday. She outlived her husband, Jackson Lovell, by almost exactly six years. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church Monday afternoon in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Cecil C. Latta. Paul Nelson sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Going Home". Mrs. Nelson played his accompanimet. Casket bearers were Dale Carpenter, John Parker, Seth Parker, Alfred Parker, Ernie Lloyd and Ted Mozena. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Janice Anice Parker, daughter of Asa and Margaret (Boyle) Parker, was born in Jackson Co., Oregon, November 10, 1859. At the age of 14 she with her parents moved to Carroll Co., Iowa. On February 3, 1881, she was united in marriage to Daniel Jackson Lovell. They lived in the vicinity of Coon Rapids until 1914 when they moved to her present home where she passed away July 6, 1956, aged 96 years, 8 months and 26 days. Her husband passed away July 14, 1950. She leaves four children: Irvin, Mona and Ray of Coon Rapids, and John of Dexter, Missouri. Two children preceded her in death, an infant son who died September 14, 1895, and Harry, who passed away June 26, 1943. Besides her children she leaves 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Dana Vought of LeRoy, Minnesota, and a number of nieces and nephews.
