Austin first married Janice Dodge on 07 Apr 1914, probably on Long Island, NY. This marriage reportedly ended in divorce. In about 1924-25, Clair Byrne married Bertie Alice Burkins born in Maryland and living in Pennsylvania at the time with son John Erwin "Jack" Byrne. After Bertie's (or Berdie) death, Clair married Gladis Graves Casebolt in about 1970.
