Bejamin stated in his Revolutionary War pension application that he was born in Richmond, VA and moved to SC as a small child with his parents. Benjamin also stated that he had only the two sons, William and Obediah. It is unkown if he meant "living" at the time of his application, or if he had only fathered two children.
The New Orleans Bee of Oct 5, 1838 relates an affray in Mobile, Alabama between Benjamin Alexander an aged man of ninety, with Thomas Hamilton, his grandson, on 24 of September killed the latter with a dirk. This would seem to indicate that Benjamin did have at least one daughter who married a Hamilton.

Gravesite Details
According to his death record, he was buried in the same plot that his daughter Lucretia Alexander was buried in 66 years later. There is a family marker placed there in recent years but Obediah was not known to be there at that time.
