Husband of Alice K. Pieper; brother to William and Marion S. Breninger.
Lived in Iowa and Nebraska before moving to Yuma Co., CO. The town of Armel, now a ghost town, was named by Armel Breninger. He built a store on his homestead and served as the first postmaster. His son, Charles R., succeeded him as postmaster in 1933, serving in that capacity for two years. The post office was in operation from 1903 to 1958 and was then moved to Wray, CO. Other sons of Armel and Alice Breninger were Frank Wallace and George Pias.
