William A. Mitten, 75, died at 5 p.m. Monday at his home on East Adams st., Millersburg, of a heart disease.
He was born in Mechanic township, Holmes county, on Nov. 7, 1873, a son of Joseph and Lenora Mitten. Mr. Mitten is a retired Pennsylvania railroad worker and for the last three years had been a school patrol officer in Millersburg and employed at the Russell theater. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Mitten was married May 9, 1910 to Gladys Skelley, who survives. He also leaves three sons, Homer Mitten of West Salem in Wayne county, Eugene M. Mitten of Apple Creek, and Dan R. Mitten of Millersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Hoffman of Andover, O., eight grandchildren: a sister, Mrs. Lewis E. Marty of Millersburg Route 2.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Elliott funeral home in Millersburg, in charge of Rev. Knox R. Roberts of the Trinity Lutheran church. Burial will be in the Millersburg cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening.
