The young couple ran a mercantile business in Eliasville, later in Wichita Falls. The couple ran their last business in Borger, Texas having moved there in 1944. They were faithful in their church and community. After her husband's death, Allye continued to run the family business in Borger. Allye was a popular piano player and many remember her playing the piano for the reunions at Eliasville for many years. Allye served as chair of the reunion from 1957-1957. She is missed.
Services were held at the Presbyterian Church at Borger officiated by Dr. Robert Presnall. Mrs. Newell was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survived by one sister-in-law - Juanita Ardis; nieces and nephews.
