Manhattan resident Lyle R. Reichman died Saturday, February 11 at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He was 72.

Born October 14, 1916 in Sedan, he was the son of Harry Ray and Edna Mae Woosley Reichman. He grew up in the Sedan area and lived with his grandparents after the death of his mother when he was six years old. His grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Woosley. He stayed with them until he finished grade school.

During his high school years he worked for various ranches in the Gallatin Valley and graduated from the Wilsall High School. He then attended the University of Montana for two years studying forestry and served as an assistant ranger at Porcupine Station in the Crazy Mountains.

He served in the Army Air Corp during the early years of World War II. After the death of his father in 1943, he was released from the service to manage the family ranching interests in Sedan.

He married Evelyn Beebe Palmer in 1946 and they ranched at Sedan, Willow Creek and Manhattan until her death in 1978. They also entered the real estate business and operated an office in Bozeman for a long time.

He married Nettie Adams in June of 1981. She died in September 1985. He married Irene Leistiko in January 1988 and she survives him.

He enjoyed fishing and dancing and loved to travel.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Rita Reichman of Manhattan; daughter and son-in-law, Pasty and Richard Miller of Hermiston, OR; two stepsons, Bill Palmer of Red Lodge and Jim Palmer of Casper, WY; one step-daughter, Harriet Buckman of Billings; two brothers, Everett of Portland, OR and Warren of Wilsall; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two wives and a sister, Lois Jean Adams in 1961.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 14 at the Dokken-Nelson Funeral Chapel, with interment following in the Sunset Hills Cemetery.
