Rome Payne taught four years at the Dolan School.
She was known to many in the community as,"Aunt Rose' because many of her brothers had large families so "Aunt Rose" was often heard from the children. She was a very devout Christians and required a 'good Christina life' from
friends and family.
Because her Niece,Muriel Boltingthouse Landrum drove a vehicle they were often seen together t funerals and events.
Rose was raised by a generous father and mother,James(Jim)
and Didima P Boltinghouse and the teaching from them no doubt was passed on to Rose.
She was also American Patriot loving her country. This may have been because her father,James enlisted in the Union Army serving with three Indiana Companies, fought in the battle of Chattbooga in 1963 nnd was wounded there. While growing up her mother made all of her clothes.
She was known to walk a long distance when she had not transportatons such as from her home
up old 37 down the Mose Rine HIll to the Harry Landrum store at Dolan.
The above was gathered and written by James Landrum who
remembers 'Aunt Rose" very well since she was in our home,
and grocery store quite often.
The above can be managed by the Payne family by contacting
James Landrum for transfering management to them. They can add pictures, delete, and add bio.
