Felicitas "Pee Wee" Friend of Safford died April 7, 2010, at the age of 74.
She was born in Jerome on Nov. 27, 1935, to Juan and Lupe Alonzo Saldana. Felicitas moved to Safford from Bisbee in 1976 with her husband William "Firo," whom she married Nov. 24, 1956, in Bisbee.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church; Pee Wee loved bowling and playing bingo.
Survivors include her sons, Bill Friend Jr. of Safford, Richard (Samatha) Friend of Glendale and David (Denise Aguirre) Friend of Scottsdale, along with eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Margaret (Earl) Berg; and a brother, Johnny Saldana of Phoenix.
Preceding her in death was her husband, William "Firo" on Aug. 7, 2008, and her brother, Ramon(Raymond)Saldana, on Sept. 1, 2008.
A rosary will be recited Saturday, April 17, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with a funeral Mass at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Safford Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Friend Jr., Richard Friend, David Friend, Ray Saldana Jr., Johnny Saldana, Garrett Douglas, Jared Friend, Gareth Friend and Earl Berg.
Contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or to St. Jude. Services were entrusted to Westlawn Chapel, Mortuary and Crematory of Willcox.
