BURTON, SHEILA 89 of Brockville passed away on Monday May 15, 2006 at St. Lawrence Lodge. Born August 6, 1917 in Stellarton, N.S. she was the daughter of the late Ethel (MacFie) and William MacDougall. Sheila graduated from Stellarton High School and attended Nursing School in Bathurst, N.B.. Her professional Nursing Career was devoted to various areas of Nursing, Industrial, Private Duty, Hospital and Administration retiring from Brockville General Hospital as Director of Health. Sheila married Frank J. Burton on January 11, 1944 in Stellarton at the home of her parents. She and Frank made their home in Brockville for 57 years after a vacation with their sister-in-law Shirley Stethem MacDougall in 1950. Sheila is survived by a sister Jeanie Holland , Wolfville N.S., a niece Jeanie Roberts, her husband George and children Sarah-Anne and Christopher, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., niece Jane-Anne Wilsack and husband Stephen of Wolfville, N.S., niece Sheila Byrd & Jim and their children, Marnie Paquette and spouse and their children of Orlando Fl., Nephews David MacDougall and his children of Middleton, N.S. and Raeburn MacDougall Jr. and wife Lillian and their children of Ottawa, Ont. She is predeceased by husband Frank Burton who passed away in 1988. Brothers Raeburn and William (Bill) MacDougall.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at Oakland Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Irvine Funeral Home & Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville.
